I feel comments should be clearly stated little snippets of opinion but it’s completely impossible to do that while telling you how incredible this is. As usual, you’ve seamlessly woven a beautiful tapestry of- see, this is what I mean. What I’m trying to say is thank you for this and for everything you do. This is fantastic!
Another wild ride. Sorry I can't restack it; the app is being obstreperous about that with me now.
The Free Times is where I first read your work; and was a major part of my weekly life once. To know that all its wonders have been nuked from the Internet is unsurprising, but depressing all the same. One more pin in our generation's "ghost map"; along with the Red Star Cafe' and the Barking Spider Tavern, only present in the fragile memories we keep, that no data-miner wants to hear.
Thing is, the bots also suppress links like this on social, so when I say I appreciate your support, that comes from the bottom of my heart.
As for the things we've lost, I believe the Powers that Be will soon be dismantling what remains of the Hulett ore unloaders down on Whiskey Island, so there's another for the endless list. I could cry.
Have a good weekend, Shag. At least some of us remember.
Brilliant and yet worrisome. I think of the future my little grandkids will have to deal with, having to grow up in a multi-layered reality. Thank you again, Erin. And bravo for archiving your work!

Well that makes it all worth it and then some. Thank you for this, my friend.

No apologies necessary!

What really gets me is that the bots control what gets promoted in social feeds. They often suppress links--like this one.
It's almost as if they're protecting their own. How creepy is that?
I love how your words wander with your mind. AI will never be able to duplicate such writing.
A new AI threat was detailed in the NYT this morning: “obituary pirates.” https://www.nytimes.com/2024/01/25/nyregion/obituary-pirates-matteo-sachman.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare
And WTF happened with the Free Times?
I am afraid to click, Tom, but I will.
Thanks for the kind words.
