I had the pleasure of meeting Peter Jennings in November 1989 standing at the Brandenburg gate in Berlin. We shared a couple of cigarettes and watched ABC college football broadcast with Keith Jackson on the tiniest monitor you ever saw. He was exactly as you would imagine. Polite, professional, and utterly Canadian.
Yes, indeed. I'm probably foolish to believe that if Mr. Jennings were here, he/we could do more about this insanity. I suppose it's really just that it would help me feel a little better.
Thank you for the reminder that “once there was a spot.” Seeing Jennings’ measured and sincere broadcast here made me sad for all the noise unleashed by so many layers of media today purporting to have “the truth.” I so love innovation in tech but find it challenging to see the misuse of it as well. I hope my grandkids will be able to sift through it all and always question, if they can, not believing something until they can prove it for themselves.

What a great story. Thanks, Bob.

I have no idea, Mary Beth, but watching that embedded video put a glaring spotlight on what media has become. I miss Peter Jennings so much.
